Somebody photographs the bottom of their coffee cup and gets told what it means.

Guests point their phone at whatever is in front of them, their cup, their palm, a doodle on a napkin, and a few seconds later there is a reading. Short, specific, entirely straight-faced, and completely made up.

It goes to their phone and, if you want it to, up on the screen for everyone else to enjoy.

It is not really a game

There is no score and nobody wins. It is a thing that happens to people while they are standing around, and it gives them something to show the person next to them.

That is a different job from the rest of this library, and it is the right job for a stand, a foyer or a queue, where a proper game would need everyone to start at the same time and nobody is going to.

Made for a stand rather than a stage

Brand activations, festivals, launch parties, trade show booths, pop-ups. Anywhere people arrive in ones and twos, stay for ninety seconds and move on.

There is nothing to join and nothing to explain. Somebody walks up, takes a photo, gets a reading, and walks off with something to talk about.

Point it at whatever suits you

The readings take a theme, so they can be about your product, your industry, the city the event is in, or the running joke of the week. The same coffee cup can predict a promotion or a product launch depending on what you set.

That is the difference between a novelty and something that looks like it was made for your stand.

What it is not

A group activity. Nobody plays this together and there is no shared moment beyond the screen. If you want the room doing one thing at once, almost anything else here will do that better.

It also does not fill a programme slot. This runs all afternoon in the background, which is exactly what a stand needs and exactly what a main stage does not.
