Find the one

Find the one is a networking game for large scale in-person events. The idea is that participants join up in pairs for short 12 second cooperation. The common goal for the pair is then finding the duplicate icon on both participants screens. Works even if people do not speak the same language. If one of you winds the same icon both get the points. No competition. Pure cooperation.

Winning strategy

The more you play the more points you can get. So be active and make as many connections as possible is the best strategy for the game. Also you can not play a successful game with the same partner several times in a row, so you need to step out of your comfort zone. If you fail to find the common figure then you are welcome to try again. Until you succeed.

Common scoring

This game has two dimensions - collective and individual. Collective is that all the players together contribute to the common goal. There is no built in number in the game, but the progress screen shows you the totals and a score graph. Perfect for building towards the commonly set goal. Remember the collective goal should be sufficiently large. Good base figure is 50 points per player per minute of game time.

Also, as there is no hard figure inside the game you can also say that it seems that 50 000 is too easy, what do you say if we go for 60K :)

Individual scoring

The game also records biggest individual contributors, so while the common score is more important you can still hand out individual prizes as well. For that there is top 100 leaderboard and podium that shows 6 biggest contributors to the overall score.

Good to know

  • The game is meant for in-person events. It does not work for hybrid and virtual events.
  • Game has collective dimension, but also best individuals can be rewarded
  • Make it short and intensive: 10-30 minutes is optimal time for the experience
  • Game time does not directly depend on the amount of participants
  • Works very well in multilingual environments

PRO tip

If in doubt make the time shorter. You can add time during the game if needed.
