Big Red Button

A bomb-defusal game that gets discussion going at every table.

The clock is ticking. In the middle of your table is a control panel, and your team just built it. Every member of the team contributes by opening a module on their phone (the wires, the switches, the dials, the keypad, the Morse transmitter, the timer, the defusal manual) and lays the phone down next to the others. Together the phones become one shared control board. Now the team has to solve the situation before the clock hits zero.

Your phone is part of the larger console

In this game the phones are not personal screens, they are pieces of one machine lying on the table for everyone to see. People lean in, point, and read aloud: "What colour is the third wire?" "The manual says cut the last red one!" "Wait, check the radio log first!" The game happens between the people, not on their screens.

Made for big teams and big rooms

Big Red Button is built for teams of 4 to 10 per table. More players means more phones, and more phones means a bigger control board. Bigger control board means you can solve tougher situations. There's always a module to keep an eye on, a rule to read out, or a theory to argue about.

Everyone contributes, in their own way

Some people love to take charge, read out the clues and debate every answer. Others would rather sit back, and that's fine too. Just putting your phone on the table helps your team, because it becomes part of the control board. Don't have a phone? No problem, you can still help by thinking along. Nobody gets left out, and nobody gets pushed into the spotlight.

Nobody has to leave their seat

No running around, no props, no rearranging the room. Everything happens around the table, so it works at gala dinners, conferences, seminars and any event where people are seated and you want the room to come alive.

Perfect for

  • Large events and conferences: a simple way to get conversation going at every table
  • Gala dinners and seated parties: lively entertainment between courses, no one has to move
  • Teambuilding days: communication, sharing information and making decisions under pressure
  • Mixed groups: no special skills needed, and there's a role for every personality

Develop your own scenarios

Use a ready-made sample scenarios for quick playthrough, or describe your event in a few words and the built-in AI creates a custom story with matching puzzles. You can even export your scenario and develop in further outside of GFC system, then import it back in.

Build the board. Start the clock. Don't press the wrong button.
