A quiz where everyone gets to pick their best subject.

Each player or team names a topic they know well. The game writes questions on those topics on the spot, and the quiz runs from there. Nobody writes a question in advance, including you.

Nobody is stuck on someone else's topic

The worst part of most quizzes is sitting through a round you know nothing about. Here everyone plays from their own strengths, so a room with very different backgrounds still gets a fair game.

It also tells you something about the people in it. Hearing what everyone picks is half the fun, especially when the quiet one in finance turns out to know everything about Formula 1.

For when there was no time to prepare

A workshop that needs an opener. A team meeting that needs a warm-up. A class that needs waking up. Open it, ask for topics, start.

Play everyone for themselves, or split into teams and let each team pick a topic. Set the language, the time limits and the scoring rules to suit the room.

The trade-off

You do not control the questions. The room does. That is the point, and it also means one very niche topic can make a round hard for everyone else. If you need every question approved in advance, Trivia Grid is the better choice.

It works best in a room small enough that people are curious about each other's topics, rather than a conference hall.
